I would firstly like to thank to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala for His Bless in my life until the completion of this final project, Daily Discharge Prediction On Ungauged Catchment Using Regional Flow Duration Curve (A Case Study On Progo Opak River Basin Province of Yogyakarta). Also for my family whose support was essential to cope with difficulties during my thesis study.
I wish to express my deepest gratitude to my supervisor Dr. Ir Joko Sujono,M.Eng. whose guidance, encourgaement, and support provide me to complete my final project. My examiner also, Dr.Ir.Rachmad Jayadi,M.Eng. for criticsm in order to make my final project better. Mr. Joko Nugroho in Hydrology Unit Balai PSDA Yogykarta for his kindness in helping me to find the data needed and also Mr Yusuf Mahmoud for guiding me to understand RFDC although we just communicated by email.

It’s About Prediction [my final project summary]

ABSTRACT
Dependable flow is important in water resources engineering. Dependable flow used as discharge planning is expected to be available in the river to estimate the installed capacity of hydroelectric power, regulate the distribution of drinking water, and estimate the irrigation area. Dependable discharge can be discovered by making the Flow Duration Curve (FDC) for discharge equaled or exceeded.
Problems arise when discharge data are not available. Prediction of the continous discharge data are needed in determine the dependable flow using FDC. A method is presented to predict the daily discharge in ungauged catchments by using the method of regional Flow Duration Curve. Five gauged catchments and two ungauged catchments on Progo Opak river basin was chosen to develop and test the proposed method Regional FDC. RFDC equation develop using nonlinear regression.
The results indicate that FDC method shows great promise for predicting streamflow in ungauged catchments. Prediction of daily discharge in the Progo and Konteng catchments has 11,79% and -16,34% mean error for Progo and Konteng catchments subsequently subsequently.

Community Service

It has been a year since my community service in Tersan Gede village, Magelang. My team called the village ‘Tersan Gede Mandiri’. Mandiri means wealth. It was our goal to make the people in the village become wealth. It was precious experience that will never turn back anymore. It just once in a lifetime. It’s very poor if your college do not have community service program. It will teach us how to face the reality of the people in this country. Especially for students in college. It’s our responsibility as educated citizens to empower community and enlight them.
